GUIDED CITY TOUR ON FOOT
Saturday afternoon at 2:30 P.M.
Tour time: 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately
Price: € 7,00 (free of charge under 14)
Timetable: 2:30 P.M. meeting point with the guide in Piazza San Carlo - near the equestrian monument -

Piazza San Carlo is considered “Turin’s living room” because of its elegance: you’ll see there the statue of Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Savoy, the one that moved the Duchy’s capital from Chambéry in France, thus starting the growth and the transformation of the city.

You’ll walk along Via Accademia delle Scienze where the Egyptian Museum - the second most important museum on Egyptian civilization after the collection housed in Cairo - stands. You’ll reach Piazza Carignano, dominated by the facade of Palazzo Carignano, seat of the first Italian Parliament.

Crossing its courtyard, you’ll discover the new wing of the Palace, that is nowadays the seat of the Museo del Risorgimento. You’ll walk through the serene atmosphere of the Galleria Subalpina, where you can hear the story of Bicerin, the traditional Turin hot drink, made with chocolate, coffee and milk.

Then you’ll reach Piazza Castello, the heart of the city, with its wonderful Baroque buildings, such as Palazzo Madama, Palazzo Reale, the Teatro Regio and St. Lorenzo’s royal church, one of the most beautiful churches in the world. Just behind the Palazzo Reale, there’s the Turin’s Cathedral.
